The ₹3,075 FASTag Annual Pass
NHAI's annual pass sits on top of your existing tag and covers a fixed number of crossings rather than a fixed distance. Whether it saves you money is arithmetic, not opinion — and the arithmetic is simple.
What it costs and what it covers
- ₹3,075 a year, revised from ₹3,000 with effect from 1 April 2026.
- Valid for 200 crossings or twelve months, whichever ends first.
- For non-commercial private vehicles only — cars, jeeps and vans.
- Honoured at NHAI-operated national highway and expressway plazas.
Where to buy it
Through the RajmargYatra mobile application or the NHAI website. It is not sold at a plaza counter, and it is not something a bank issues — it attaches to the tag you already hold, whichever bank issued that tag.
Is it worth it? Do this calculation
Divide ₹3,075 by the number of NHAI crossings you genuinely make in a year. If the result is below your usual per-crossing toll, the pass pays. If you make 60 crossings a year, you are paying about ₹51 a crossing — cheap on a corridor with a ₹100 toll, poor value on one charging ₹40.
State highway plazas and privately operated toll roads sit outside it. Neither the annual nor the local pass covers every toll road in India, and the 200-crossing ceiling is a real limit rather than a formality.
Annual Pass or Local Pass?
They solve different problems. The annual pass suits long-distance driving across many plazas. If instead you cross one particular plaza constantly because you live beside it, the ₹350 monthly local pass is almost certainly the cheaper instrument.
